According to the city of Phoenix operational orders for law enforcement personnel, the guiding values are P.R.I.D.E. P stands for protection and prevention. Protection and prevention are key to law enforcement. For the phoenix police department, it shows the importance of both the warrior and guardian mindsets. The warrior mindset is seen in the aggressive response by law enforcement in protecting citizens from those who break the law. In addition, the city of phoenix also recognizes the importance of community policing, where the operational orders state that the responsibility of public safety is not only in the hands of law enforcement, but also the community and government. The R in code of ethics stands for responsibility and respect. These codes of ethics are very important for officers, due to the important role officers play in the community. According to the operational orders, the city of phoenix holds officers to good character and responsibility for their own actions. Therefore, if we are held responsible for our actions, our code of ethics says we will also hold criminals responsible for their actions. By keeping this integrity and professionalism, this will promote confidence in our community. After Integrity and ideals, the code of ethics discusses dedication to duty. This concept involves the importance of law enforcement to pursue persistent efforts in the overall quality of life for all the community.
