In Charlie Browns Thanksgiving it start with Lucy and Charlie in the yard, she wants him to kick the football. She says that thanksgiving is all about tradition and one of those traditions is the opening kickoff of the football. When she pulls the football away and he falls on his back she says that some traditions are not kept. This opening scene setups the rest of the episode to come, by subliminally alluding that traditions are not kept. We later see that Charlie Brown is supposed to go by his grandmother's house but when called by peppermint patty she invites herself and 2 other to tag along to have thanksgiving at his house. We feel the pride that is being put into the preparation of the meal even though it is something as simple as toast, pretzel sticks, and popcorn. When Peppermint patty and the others arrive they sit to have the meal in which they say grace, this might have been a oversight for the gang but peppermint patty pointed it out which is what made everyone realize that they should. When Snoopy makes the plates and hands it out to everyone Peppermint patty is enraged with the fact that she is going to be eating toast, pretzels, and popcorn for her thanksgiving dinner. She goes and says a few harsh choiced words to Charlie Brown which leads to him walking away from the table, Realizing what she had did she eagerly wanted to make up for what she had said. In doing so we learn a good lesson from this, that's no matter what the normal tradition as long as it's meaningful and the person tries their hardest doesn't mean that they were trying to mess up the meaning of thanksgiving but the fact that he is thankful for everyone being able to be
