Infatuated Love & the Story of Romeo and Juliet Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet is a play revolving around a certain theme called “Love.” Love comes in many different forms such as true love, in which both partners accept each other’s positives and negatives and work together to form a bright future. True love usually takes much longer than the love formed at first sight, also known as infatuated love. Such include desperation, extra-possessiveness and craving for the presence of the other partner involved. During this relationship between Romeo and Juliet, both have a desperation for a lover and both feel a craving for each other’s presence. Sometimes, such emotions can lead to disrespect to family and close friends but also can persuade the lovers to take rash actions. According to PhyschCentral, featuring Sarah Moore, the feelings that come along with infatuation are often similar to a “high, such as a longing anticipation of their so-called “lover’s” arrival and an intense craving usually leading to heightened arousal. It is a love which can lead to true love but can lead to a breakup just as fast, In short, Romeo and Juliet may have an infatuated relationship but there can also be chances for it to become true love at one point in time. True love takes time and usually, the person one might love at first sight usually isn’t their dream partner. But in the case of Romeo and Juliet, it is possible that there was some connection forming. But we cannot negate the fact that both knew that this decision was wrong and that it would lead to consequences and yet, Romeo and Juliet continued. They both created this perfect character out of themselves and forgot about the whole Montague and Capulet situation. In simple words, the most typical form of love that infatuated people desire is a genuine romantic connection, which combines emotional support, affectionate bonding, and sexual attraction. These three points clearly describe the intentions of both Romeo and Juliet. Many confuse the love between Romeo and Juliet to be true love but there is a clear difference. According to licensed mental health counsellor Grace Suh, "If infatuation turns bidirectional, with the sense of security from both parties, you're off to a good start." Infatuation usually can be the first step to true love in some cases and Romeo and Juliet’s relationship is one such case. Both love each other obsessively however, there is a sense
