“He grabbed a bucket of water, a washcloth, and a towel, went up to Alexander Hamilton’s tombstone, and cleaned it until it sparkled. Then he and the other chiefs stood at attention and saluted the founding father of the Coast Guard”-Adm. James M. Loy The Coast Guard’s response to 9/11 remains a defining moment in Coast Guard history. The terrorist attack in lower Manhattan not only affected the surrounding New York area, but sent shock waves throughout the United States with many citizens fearing the protection of domestic security.
The U.S. Marines have been around for many years they have been trained at their very best since November 10, 1775, the
The United States Army and the Marine Corps are both ground forces used in fighting this country’s wars. The men and women serving in both branches of service risk their lives, so that we can sleep easy at night. While some differences between the Army and the Marine Corps are evident, but the Army is a far superior branch of service. The Marine Corps sole mission is the seizure or defense during operations of peace keeping.
The history of the Marine Corps is much respected. On November 10, 1775 the continental congress accepted the purpose to create two battalions of the marines able to fight for Independence at sea and on shore. This date marks the official creation of the continental marines and the birthday of the Marine Corps. Every year, the Marine Corps marks November 10 as a celebration
With this resolution the Continental Marines were established marking the birth date of the United States Marine Corps. Serving on land and at sea, these first Marines distinguished themselves in a number of important operations, including their first amphibious raid into the Bahamas in 1776, under the command of Captain (later Major) Samuel Nicholas, Nicholas, the first commissioned officer in the Continental Marines, remained the senior Marine officer until the end of the American Revolution and is considered to be the first Marine Commandant (A Brief History of the Marine Corps). This branch is right for me because I am willing to sacrifice everything and put it all on the line for this country and I'd be most proud of myself for doing it being known as a United States
I have heard a plethora of great things for being a lifeguard at Foothills Swim and Racquet Club. For example, coworkers are nice, teaching swim lessons are fun because people get to form a relationship with the kids, and have the chance to meet new people. My brother, Andrew Sebald, worked at Foothills last summer and loved everyday he was working there. All the great things that I have heard about came mostly from Andrew. This made me want to have the opportunity to work at Foothills.
What is a Veteran? Federal law, moral code and military service define a veteran as "Any, Any, Any"... A military veteran is Any person who served for Any length of time in Any military service branch. However, they are much more than that. These people gave their ALL in the battlefield for us, so we can safely walk down the street, while our children play without fear of losing this freedom.
Pearl Harbor Most people want to talk about what happened on the day Pearl Harbor was bombed, but in this report, I’m here to talk about the history, present, and future, regarding this surprise attack. When talking about the attack, you need to know why and how it happened. Almost everyone wants to believe the whole surprise attack was indeed a total surprise, but based on the information I have researched, I have decided that it was not at all a surprise to our military and congress. The attack was well thought out by Japanese commander, Mitsuo Fuchida, and Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto.

In 1791, the Bank of the United States opened, and individual states were no longer allowed to print their own money. Hamilton created the U.S. Coast Guard, but it didn 't have that name then and was referred to as “the cutters.” “The cutters” were the only vessels that were armed protecting trade between 1790 and 1798. (William H. Thiesen, Coast Guard History 2016: How the Coast Guard became a military service, Coast Guard Compass, official blog of the U.S. Coast Guard)
The original settings for American Independence could be traced back to the French and Indian war of 1754-1763, the war between the British and France. Although the British won this war, the British was in debt as a consequence and began to increase the financial burden placed on the American colonies by levying taxes. Therefore, the British Parliament inaugurated Acts on the colonies to obtain revenues, such as Townshend Act, Sugar Act, Stamp Act, and Currency Act, as well as reasserting their control over the colonies. The genuine problem that the colonies were discontent with was the lack of representation in the British Parliament; some colonies in America had to abandon their own legislature of taxing for 100 years. It was this time that Thomas Paine published the Common Sense to arouse the American colonies to unite and to

Surfing is an exciting and casual sport that is performed by using a surfboard to ride breaking waves towards the shore. Typically, this is done on a beach. New advances in technology have now made it possible to surf on land with the help of a wave pool. When you think of surfing, California, Australia, and Hawaii tend to pop into people's minds.
