In my research paper I will be talking about Marie Sophie Germain, a famous mathematician born and raised in Paris, France. I chose Sophie Germain because I believe that female historical figures deserve the equal amount of recognition that males receive. She also caught my attention because she had no support at all, and because of that would receive education secretly. I believe that Germain has taught us that even though we will encounter obstacles on our path, with determination and perseverance all things are possible. Although it can be something negative, one always hopes that a person is determined to work and provide in a positive aspect and not a negative one.

By the end of the semester I had become far more confident with the material, and I had not received another thirty percent on a quiz. One day after class, Ms. Barnett asked if I wanted to stay after school once a week to help her organize the lab. I was excited that she had noticed how I had disciplined myself as a student in her class, and happily agreed to do so. As the year progressed, I developed an academic and personal bond with her; similar to the bond I had to my grandfather.
Informative Speech Self Assessment The purpose of my informative speech was to inform my audience about the early life, career, and legacy of Dorothy Dandridge. My goal was to enlighten my classmates about the life and career of a talented, complex, beautiful and influential woman who has inspired me personally. I opened my speech with an anecdote about who Dorothy Dandridge was a person. I hoped that by doing this it would help to convey her moreso as a real person and not just a historic figure.
I met with Ms. Hoebee to ask her some questions about her life. One of the questions I asked was based a major turning point in her life. She shared with me that she experienced this turning point at Millersville University. When she experienced this spectacular moment, it was the year 2004. She said that this experience represented a turning point in her life because it made her more independent and she was officially starting on a career pathway to become a teacher.
Many of you are taught all about the Founding Fathers and how America got it’s Independence. I’m positive you’ve all heard about the famous Founding Father, Benjamin Franklin, and about all his contributions to history. He has contributed to the draft of the Declaration of Independence, but that wasn’t the only important contribution he made. He bought a famous paper, the Pennsylvania Gazette, proved the electrical nature of lighting with a kite, and many other things were done by Benjamin. You were probably not told too much about Franklin’s other accomplishments.
Throughout my Life and high school career I have spent many hours with teachers and coaches. I have had many experiences, but the one that stands out most to me is my former cheerleading coach and gym teacher, Ms. Traska. She coached our team with no background in cheerleading. She brought us closer as a team and being part of this team has made a difference in my life. The two years that Ms. Traska coached were the most fun, productive, and memorable years that I have been on the team.

She made relearning the topic very fun and pleasurable. My least favorite was when she called on me to answer questions pertaining to the lecture. I really did not like that at all. In short, I am still very interested in becoming a nurse professor, maybe in near future.
