Throughout this course, I have learned about the importance of instructional design models and learning theories. A model and theory can provide a guideline that can organize pedagogical ideas that can achieve instructional goals correctly. The main thing that I have focused on most is how models can describe how to conduct several steps that help educators to reach the guiding and planning process. These type of learning methods are developed for students who are self-centered learners. However, performance is important during the learning process due to defining goals. Instructional design models are capable of focusing on the important outcomes that measure instruction and the tools/resources that benefit from it. We live in a fast-paced world, which allow all students and educators to keep up with technology. E-learning is a great way to learn due to the availability technology has when it comes to creating a new course and the material. The course content needs to stay up to date and needs to be quick at giving the students the latest of information so he or she can gain successful knowledge and be mindful learners. The instructional design models and theories enhance this process by helping the educator get creative while developing the instructional plan. Faculty members in higher education are involved in many instructional design activities without formal training in learning theories and the science of instruction (Elkhider & Khalil, 2016, para.1).
