I am most attracted to Loma Linda University’s mission to make man whole and continue the teaching and healing ministry of Jesus Christ and its commitment to faith and science. As a Seventh-day Adventist christian, the motto to make man whole has never been more personal than it is now. As I grow in my experience as a christian, to further the teaching and healing ministry of Jesus continues to take center stage. This mission and an understanding of the need for whole person care is something I seek to demonstrate and encourage through my profession as a nurse and involvement in my community.

I want to enroll in Pre-AP English because I think it could help me in several of ways. This can help attain my goals because it helps me receive a higher gpa. I plan to contribute to Maricopa High School community by joining student council, if I join student council I would be involved in more things and can help at any events, I am committed to go above and beyond and I am self-motivated to do anything necessary. Skills that I have that are essential for advanced placement include someone who will try their best every day, someone who will go above and beyond in completing their assignments and are respectful and responsible.
My childhood was not most would consider to be easy. Both my mother and father had addiction issues that forced my younger brother and I to care for ourselves. By the time I reached the fifth grade, I had attended five different elementary schools. On the days that I did actually go to school, I was not on time. A few years later, I moved in with my grandparents, and my entire life improved.
I am not like other sixteen year olds. I find a better use of my time making the world a better place than partying or loafing around. While my peers engage in such activities I work towards broadening my awareness of the world around me. It’s the small things, namely learning about foreign cultures or giving back to my community that make me different. At sixteen years old, I am graduating from Inlet Grove Community High School and have been accepted to Florida Atlantic University.
I am uniquely qualified to be admitted into the Wisconsin School of Business due to the fact that I have experience in the field of business as a member of collegiate DECA and as a marketer for College Works Painting. Participating as a member of collegiate DECA has broadened my understanding of what it means to be a business major by expanding my personal connections. Subsequently, by interacting with business majors with various emphases, I have accumulated more knowledge about what it takes to succeed in multiple areas of business. Tips for Incoming Freshmen in High School In middle school and all of my previous years I thought my freshman year of high school was going to be the toughest/worst year of my entire life. Movies and TV shows make it seem as if all that’s going to happen to you will be negative. So far, my freshman year hasn’t at all been a negative experience. I just had to tell myself that this was going to be like every other school year and to not dread it so much.
I choose to be a Preprofessional Studies major because my passion lies in the medical field. My professional goal is to become a pediatric doctor and possibly working in research for children 's illnesses, such as diabetes. I first gained an interest in the medical field during my senior year of high school. My prior foundation in the sciences was weak and its appeal to me was low, but my anatomy and physiology class changed my attitude. I had a curiosity to the inner workings of the body and this class explored that in addition to research on anatomy and illnesses.
Eagerness to learn, attention to details, and willingness to put in required effort and time, all qualities I wish to continue to practice as a student in AP English 12. As a student of organization and willingness to participate in classroom discussions and interactions, I believe those attributes of me as a student set me up for success in this class. My enthusiasm in learning has been a leading factor in my decision to apply for this rigorous course my senior year. While there are other options available this is the course best suited for me due to my attention to details and readiness to dedicate time and effort into this class. As a child, I was never aware of my family’s financial struggles. My parents divorced when I was 12 and money became the central issue in my life. I found myself worrying about mortgages, health bills, and grocery money at a very young age. As I continued to grow, I vowed to myself that I would not struggle financially the way my parents had to. I want to escape the socioeconomic status I was born into, which is why I am pursuing a post-secondary education.
Membership in Ball State University's Honors College presents an opportunity for me to be surrounded by peers who share a similar commitment to academic excellence. I am eager to build beneficial connections with like-minded students who take their education seriously. Furthermore, I look forward to interacting with professors who will challenge me to grow to my full potential. I believe that this stimulating and rigorous academic environment will push me to excel academically and personally.
Candidate Personal Statement: Why do you want to be a part of student government? I want to be a part of student government because I want to further serve my community within Flushing High School as well as support people I hold dear within the school. If I were elected to student government, I would want to unite the community as well as succeed in performing my leadership duties within the student community. I believe my previous experience in Bring Change to Mind (BC2M), Peer Group Connections (PGC), as well as my Sisters Keeper (MSK), has properly prepared me for this position as they have helped me build leadership skills such as the public speaking and a keen sense of corporation in group settings. These three services have prioritized giving back to the community and further supporting Flushing High School.
Everyone is born with some sort of talent which needs to be developed and practiced. The Honors College offers many great opportunities for students to participate in research, community service, and leadership—all of which help us to enhance our interpersonal skills and prepare us for the job market. My particular area of interest is chemistry: I have always been interested in learning how the human body works, about drug design, and chemistry-mediated drug delivery. I was born and raised in Vietnam where traditional medicines of using herbals, and plant sources for health treatment is practiced widely. I always want to get a chance to do research on medicinal plants to ascertain its efficacy for diseases, and apply into modern medicines or natural health care products.
I write this addendum in support of and in good faith of full disclosure. Although I have no record or documentation for the events described below, and university records are destroyed after a two year period, I determined that the situation met the disclosure requirements of the character question. From July, 2010 to September, 2011, I was enrolled as a midshipman at the United States Naval Academy. Freshmen students are highly regulated and restricted in their actions on and off campus. Upperclassman have a direct and influential affect on the lives of freshmen students.
There are many different things that can impact students in their high school years. Whether these things are friends, activities, or the sports they participate in they all impact the student. Many opportunities are presented to students in high school, although not many impacts the student beyond high school, I believe this opportunity will impact me forever. I would love to be a part of the Early College Program this coming spring. I believe the program will do nothing but help me grow and strive to be a better student and continue being involved.
