Question 1: Interpersonal Communication Interpersonal communication is the interaction, between more than one person, in a verbal or nonverbal manner (Vuuren et al., 2014). The scene (from the video) consists of two people – in a relationship – having a dialogue which represents bad interpersonal communicational skills. There are several styles of communication being applied in the scene. The female demonstrates a passive behavior as seen by way in which she agrees to most of what the male says and suggests. Vuuren, Stein and Van Der Merwe (2014) states that: “Your general sources should be Relevant, Readily available and Reliable.” This is a process for proper research and it can be further elaborated. Relevance This part of the process is about how pertinent the source is, which depends on the content of the information, the style that it’s written in (e.g. Colloquial or formal), who is the author and whether or not he/she/they come from a trustworthy background (e.g. Job description) and who the information is intended for (Smith & Stein, n.d.). Readily Available There are many forms of sources and different ways to access them. After understanding how to use the resources, dependence on the internet becomes less significant (Smith & Stein, n.d.). Reliability Sources should always be reliable, and that reliability is determined on things like the credentials of the author (Smith & Stein, n.d.).
