Italian Food Vs American Culture

276 Words2 Pages
What distinguishes Italian culture and tradition from American culture and some others is that Italian food has a cultural, historical and artistic component. Food in Italy is crafted with care, often times in a traditional fashion that is centuries old. In Italy, ingredients are hand-selected and are always fresh. Along with fresh, local ingredients are local and regional culinary traditions that are centuries-old, which traditions, even today, are followed when baking breads, pastries and other culinary treats. The cultural representatives will impart firsthand knowledge of such local and regional customs and traditions upon the American public through their participation in our Cultural Representative Program.
