Culture is defined as the characteristics and knowledge of a particular group of people, encompassing language, religion, cuisine, social habits, music and arts. Every country has a particular culture that is recognizable by both its own country and from other countries. Italy founded March 17, 1861, is a country located in southern Europe that is surrounded by Switzerland, France, Slovenia, and Austria (CIA, 2017). Italy has a rich diversity of ethnic groups, including French, Slovene, Albanian, and Greeks. The current population of this boot shaped country is 32,127,802 citizens (CIA, 2017). Italy’s culture includes food, architecture, landforms, traditions, military presence, and religion. As one will notice the elements of Italy 's culture is deeply rooted in its history. Many of the aged traditions and ways of life are still the same today in this historically rich country.
To understand Italy 's culture readers, need to be aware of the climate and geographical information about Italy. The climate of Italy is Mediterranean, and this means Italy has a considerably warm and mild winter while summers are warm and dry. Although this is true for most the country, in the northern parts, it can reach freezing temperatures. This is a result of the Alps Mountains, which is in the north quarter of Italy (Harness, 2018). Mountains and volcanoes cover approximately 40% of Italy. One of the exceedingly unique landforms in Italy is Mount
