James watt was born on January 19, 1736. He was born in Greenock, Scotland. James dad was also named James Watt and Agnes Muirhed was his mom. James dad was a carpenter. His dad would help make ships for a living. James found all this interesting and had his dad teach him about carpentry and ships. James learned everything there was to learn about ships at a young age. His family was poor growing up because if a ship was wrecked his father was to blame and a lot of his finances were taken. Also at this time James was having health problems, where he was struggling from migraines and tooth aches. In London, James got a job as an apprentice at an instrument making shop. James did not get paid a lot but was good at what he did so he began to make his way up the chains of his new job.
