He began showing little to no interest in hobbies or social interaction around the ages of 10 to 15. Dead animals became an interest of his and he also started drinking heavily during his high school years (“National Museum of Crime and Punishment”). After Dahmer's high school graduation he would set out to kill his first victim. In June of the summer of 1978 Steven Hicks was hitchhiking and was picked up by a man named Jeffrey Dahmer, Little did Hicks know that was going to be the last time he would be seen alive. Dahmer took Hicks home with him to get drunk and have a good time. When Hicks tried to leave, Dahmer killed him with a blow to the head with a barbell. Dahmer then drop out of Ohio State because of his drinking. His father made him enlist in the army, but he was kicked out due to alcoholism (“National Museum of Crime and Punishment”). After getting kicked out of the army, Dahmer went to a mental hospital in Florida to help him with his drinking problem. The help didn’t last for long, due to the fact that he couldn’t stop drinking and got kicked out. Dahmer was then sent home to live with his father. Dahmer was not done with Hicks and deiced that he would go and dig back up his remains, to make it easier to scatter his remains around the woods of his dad’s house. An arrest later that year for disorderly conduct prompted his father to send Dahmer to live with his grandmother in Wisconsin, but his alcohol problem persisted and he was arrested again for disorderly conduct the following year (“ Biography.com”) . After moving into his grandma's Dahmer would be taking his second victim in the fall of 1987. This one wouldn’t be a hitchhiker but a man he picked up at a gay bar. Steven Tuomi was Dahmer's second victim. Tuomi and Dahmer went back to a hotel and partied, only for Dahmer to wake up the next day not remembering what happened and seeing Steven dead right next to him.
