Jeffrey Dahmer was born on May 21, 1960 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin (“Jeffrey Dahmer”). He was very happy and energetic until age four when he had a surgery to correct a double hernia. This surgery seemed to cause a change in him, and he became very introverted after the birth of his brother, David Dahmer. In his teen years, he was very tense and had hardly any friends. Dahmer claimed that by the age of 14, compulsions toward murder and necrophilia developed. He realized that he was homosexual in high school. Dahmer would have sexual fantasies about raping men. He liked the idea of having complete control over another person. His parents divorced and this seemed to turn his dark thoughts to actions. He dismembered the bodies and often ate parts of them. He also performed an experiment one of his victims. Dahmer injected hydrochloric acid into the brain of a 14 year old boy in attempt to zombify him. This, of course, killed the boy and his body was dismembered and stored in acid. After killing 17 boys and men, Dahmer almost killed his 18th victim. Tracy Edwards came to Jeffrey Dahmer’s apartment for sexual activity, but Edwards ran away when Dahmer stated that he wanted to eat his heart. The police found Edwards and he took them to Dahmer’s apartment. The police found many dismembered bodys and polaroid pictures of different victims. The ruthless serial killer was finally arrested for good. Dahmer’s trial was soon to come.
His trial began in January of 1992 (“Jeffrey Dahmer”). He pleaded not guilty even though he confessed the crimes in a previous interrogation. Dahmer changed his plea to guilty by virtue of insanity. The jury decided to believe that he was fully aware of what he was doing when he murdered his victims and just chose to do it anyways. On February 15, 1992, the jury returned after about 10 hours’ deliberation to find Dahmer guilty, but sane on all counts. He was sentenced to 15 consecutive life terms.
