Life of John Dillinger Despite being a notorious criminal, criminal John Dillinger displayed a generous side, showing acts of kindness and generosity that challenged ordinary criminal behavior. John Dillinger was born June 22, 1903 at Indianapolis, Indiana, U.S. and died July 22, 1934, Chicago, Illinois. His early life was described by poverty, family troubles and an early involvement in crime. Dillinger's father was a carpenter and someone who sold food and some household products. But his father would drink heavily and would be abusive towards his family. And later on, Dillinger’s mother died of a stroke in 1923. Leaving him mentally disturbed. Dillinger had started doing high profile activities with his newly created gang of prisoners during the 1930s. Dillinger carried out bank robberies which had caught the attention of law enforcement and the public. Dillinger’s gang is made up of Homer Van Meter, Lester (“Baby Face Nelson”) Gillis, Eddie Green, and Tommy Carroll. The gang is known for their violent crime approaches. Where they had executed their bank robberies after carefully planning them out across several different states. And during those heists, the gang would use firearms as a form of intimidation. And the activities had been swirled and carefully planned so they would be able to escape banks with a large amount of money before law enforcement were able to reach the crime spot. “The criminal gang has made headlines all over the country”. Which shows how notorious Dillinger and his gang were during their time of heists.
