Though the author of the Gospel of Mark is unable to be verified, traditionally John Mark is considered the author. John Mark was the traveling companion of Paul and the interpreter for Peter in Rome. Modern scholars are unable to verify the tradition since the author does not identify himself and they are unable to link any existing writings about Jesus with the apostles or their immediate disciples (Harris, 2015). Mark’s use of the themes of persecution and tribulations suggest that the Jewish revolt had already begun when Mark began his writing.
The writer of the Gospel of Mark, John Mark, used many different literary devices while writing. His use of foreshadowing throughout his Gospel created interesting comparisons between the Old Testaments, as well as through his own Gospel. Foreshadowing is a premonition or warning that will eventually come true. John Carroll helped spread Catholicism all throughout the United States. One person in particular that helped teach was Elizabeth Seton. In 1812, she was giving approval to create the Sisters of Charity of St. Joseph (Boylan). This would lead to her founding many other Catholic women’s schools that would become a foundation from schools across the United States for even non Catholics (Boylan). Most importantly though, after her death in 1821 of tuberculosis Pope Paul VI declared her a saint (Boylan).

John Green is an American Author with a large influence on the minds of teens today through his books, such as Looking for Alaska, An Abundance of Katherines, Paper Towns, Will Grayson, Will Grayson, and The Fault In Our Stars. Starting his career as an author in 2005, Green has come a long way and is as I would call, his peak of stardom and fame in the writing world. Now at the age of 39, Green plans to continue his writing and effect on people today. While a famous and striving author today, he, just like anyone else, started as any old kid. Green was born in Indiana, U.S.A. on August, 24, 1977.
Impact: to have a strong effect or influence on someone. I have had many good teachers throughout my years in school, but one stands out above the rest. One who has made an impact on my life. He is Mr. John Schaidle.

However, when reading the Gospel of Mark, no mention is made about who wrote the book; therefore, while the name of the book implies the author is Mark the reality is that the book’s writer is unknown (Wilcox, 2014). John Hower Updike, the voice of reality and a force of change that shaped the later half of the twentieth century. According the article “John Updike,” in St. James Encyclopedia of Popular Culture, his mentality and individualistic way of perceiving the world allowed him to script many works of fiction that embodied how people actually viewed the world around them. Throughout the experiences and influences in his life. He was misunderstood by many and till this day is still misunderstood by many people. He was open to the world views and allowed himself to be drawn in and be taken away by his work so he was seen as many things other than what he truly was, a master poetic novelist (“Updike”).
2 Peter and Jude are books found near the end of the New Testament. The authors of these books are Simon Peter, the apostle, and Jude, the brother of James and the half-brother of Jesus. Jude was written in about A.D. 65, and 2 Peter around A.D. 67, both during the reign of Emperor Nero. They are often simple “grazed through” by believers because of their shortness in nature. However, an intricate study of these works beneath their surface reveals many hidden gems.
We can say that Mark has one objective: to record in writing all the important events about the life of Jesus, in order not to forget and keep them against distortion or falsification. In doing so, Mark clearly shows us who the Jesus who lived among us is and how great is his Gospel message. This message offers us life in the Kingdom of God with whom we have been reconciled.
Mark whose full name was John Mark an associate with Simon Peter, one of the 12 apostles that followed Jesus throughout His public ministry on earth. Peter was the name given to Simon by Jesus Christ personally. He was very close to Jesus and after the crucifixion, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus, Peter was one of the founders of the early church. Although the book was written by Mark, the facts contained in it are thought to be the accounts of Peter during his ministry with Jesus.
