The movie begins with the incredibly clear sound of the ocean waves crashing on the beach, then, bird’s songs and the images of what’s appeared to be thousands of people being killed by what appeared to be white men, a preamble of what to come as it were. Then a soft ad extremely tender female voice, in a short prayer like message subrepticely acknowledges her natural and unbreakable entanglement with the universe, mother earth, the water, the sun and the wind while standing on the shore line. Her voice was so soft it was barely audible. Moments after, appeared the first native of the land, swimming deep under a crystal clear, untouched and unpolluted lake. Although Smith and his men were in charge at the time these unfortunate incidents occurred, he failed to directly take responsibility for these misfortunes and the death of many in the colony.
