This book was a great read for anyone that is trying to make changes to their current health. It takes the reader back to the simple ways of humankind and how easy it was before in relation to diet and the ideas that have been engraved into our society. There has been trials on the diet ideas the book has and it has plenty of justification.
Book Selection
I am going to be honest the first thing that caught my eye when selecting this book was the face of the book. First off the title Go Wild, Eat Fat, Run Free, Be Social, and Follow
Evolution’s Other Rules for Total Health and Well-Being, I got a sense of the book becoming a guide to how to live life simpler and healthier. The bright colors and dancing stick figure drew me in and made me pick

The author is basically stating how all of the problems started when humankind developed agriculture, which in simple words pointed to cards and sugar. “A host of studies looked at populations of these same people as they adopted Western diets and ways of living and found a coincident rise in diseases of civilization”
(Ratey, 2015, p.45). The focus of this book is to encourage today’s civilization to go back to the primitive days when mankind had to go look for sugar in the wild, instead of buying it in bulk as it is done nowadays. Fat-O-Phobia
This was an interesting point made in the reading, it outlines how today we are in a way scared of fat and try to avoid it at all cost. Ratey pointed out that cholesterol is thought to be the main reason for most heart diseases “Dietary cholesterol, for instance, has an insignificant effect on blood cholesterol. It might elevate cholesterol level in a small percentage, but for most of us, it’s clinically meaningless” (Ratey, 2015, p. 83). I thought this was extremely fascinating point because it seems like it was a blind point or something to blame for all the health issues occurring. The fact that diets are always encouraging low fat to no fat, I admit that I was that person trying to avoid any type of fat. The results weren’t that dramatic, but now that I have adopted a more fat less carb and sugar diet the results have been great! It is further explained how fat is needed for all cells and to get rid of glucose in our bodies, encouraging that primitive diet. Corroboration
To validate the points that were made in the book I read an article that found the effects of the Paleo diet has on diabetic management. It was found that “Increased dietary
