Some of the highlights of the Sorority were belonging to such a wonderful Sisterhood, attending my first Regional and having the opportunity to add to my leadership skills, for that I am so grateful. At this time I am the primary caregiver for my mother, working on completing a portfolio in Nonprofit Management by December 2015 and working from home. I am available to help recruit, volunteer, make referrals, and will make certain

Alpha Fraternity on campus, they are always walking with their heads held high, attentive and ready. They are the people that you want to look up to in society. For example when Alpha Phi Alpha members do things such as, help paint a school or help out at a soup kitchen, they are being good roles models to the community. I want to be someone that other people look up to. I think that it is imperative that we as young African Americans set a good example for the younger black children growing up today.
The National Honor Society is an opportunity for many students, who are well educated with dreams and leaderships skills, to upgrade themselves. The sole purpose of this organization is to endeavor leaders in different societies to help out their community. It will help colleges to notify the leaders when looking at students’ resumes, for those students in this organization will be the few who are well-developed leaders in their school. Since this will be the first time to be given the opportunity to contribute to this organization, I may not know everything about the requirements in which I need to manage.
In addition, I serve as a field educator and was a member of the peer review board. I have also been an active member our union, including successfully helping to coordinate and run election campaigns for board members that has resulted in an incredible boost for the district to move into the future and improved transparency and communications. One of my proudest
I was the vice-president and the nursing club student council representative while in Montgomery College. I formulated and implemented some policies pertaining to the club. I developed a mentorship program for freshmen. Moreover, I set up a program of feeding the poor in the nearby shelter. I am currently the group leader of the education shared governance committee.
As a member of various committees, I interacted with teams and students throughout the school. On the guided reading team, I wrote and was awarded a grant to revive and expand the guided reading resource library. As a student study team member, we provided strategic academic supports for targeted students; in addition, I was a member of both the PBIS team and the PIT crew (Positive Intervention Team), which provides strategic social and behavioral supports. Additionally, I was an active member of the district’s Special Education Advisory Committee and the Preschool to Kindergarten transition
“The chief significance of Alpha Phi Alpha lies in its purpose to stimulate, develop, and cement an intelligent, trained leadership in the unending fight for freedom, equality, and fraternity. Our task is endless.” Jewel Henry Arthur Callis. Since its founding Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity has remained loyal to its ideal of providing advocacy for its community.
“Bringing the gifts that my ancestors gave, I am the dream and the hope of the slave. I rise, I rise, I rise.,” to become a Delta Woman. When asked to express why I should be awarded the honor & pleasure of being apart this great sorority; I must admit I was a bit overwhelmed but also very humbled. However, I am reminded of the great women Delta Sigma Theta has helped mold some of the most influential women in the world. I want to be apart of the most illustrious sorority organization.
In Sigma Kappa, I found a sisterhood full of girls who truly are examples of excellence. I remember looking up to Taylor Haynes and even Kat Gillanders for their leadership around campus, and the level with which they carried themselves. I am proud that the girls of Sigma Kappa can walk around UGA without people thinking “look at that trashy sorority girl”. A big role in this is what the Standards Council does. It is important to have a program to steer college students in the right way when they start to go down a negative path.
to compete against all collegiate schools. In the bass club I took the role of being the clubs treasurer in which I handled the clubs balance, and budgeted trips the for the team. I was also the the IFC (inter fraternal conference) in which I am also the treasurer. My responsibility for treasurer for IFC is handling the IFC balance, and budget all committees inside the IFC. Lastly I am also a brother of Sigma Pi fraternity where I hold the position of being the head of the fundraiser committee where I manage a team to effectively fundraise money for the Sigma Pi chapter of UWA.
I have been involved in student government at the school. My sophomore year of highschool, I served as the Class Vice-President. In my junior year, I was the Class President. This year, I have led the school as the Student Body President.
From contesting for this position to getting elected and working for betterment of my house group, I gained a lot of experience and self-confidence and became more responsible. Being a vice captain, I played an important role in addressing and motivating students, advising and helping them, and earning points for my group by participating in many competitions alone or in a team. I also served as the student voice of the school to a variety of external and internal constituents. The student council served as a bridge between the students and the school heads and administration.
