In Night, a memoir by Elie Wiese, Eliezer is taken to a concentration camp at an early age for the majority of his youth. In this camp, he was forced to mature fast and faced many hardships that shaped and molded his identity to make him the person he grew up to be. There always comes a moment in a person 's life when one has to grow up, which is sometimes known as coming of age. The period is characterized by a young person who undergoes transition into an adult stage, thus learning to act and live like an adult. While the process of development occurs naturally as an individual advance of his age, it can also be influenced by occurrences, which force the person to grow faster. In most instances, the societal forces force a child to mature faster since one is acquainted with the responsibilities of an adult. For instance, during the civil war era, young people were forced into military so that they can join the war, this taking up the role of adults in the society.

About 6 months ago, a close friend who was manic depressive took her own life due to her mental illness. I believe that with greater awareness of her state and proper mental health care, her life may have been saved.
The age of adulthood should be raised to 25 because the adolescents of today no longer have to face many of the tribulations that helped adolescents of the past mature into adulthood. Maturity, defined by Webster’s dictionary is... just kidding using the dictionary definition of a word is pointless and dull. So what does maturity actually mean? Being mature is reaching the point of enlightenment in life that you realize that you are human and in life, you win some and lose some. You make mistakes, and are not complacent with where you stand. As most people think that being mature, and being defined with that word, warrants you to be smart and all knowing.

Maturity is the “full development” of an individual, but what does this mean? People have often thought that it just comes naturally over time. Maturity is the ability of a person to act responsible, making the most out of their current circumstances. Some people never reach the state of maturity, while other obtain it at a very young age. In this sense, maturity cannot be given to someone, but must be earned by themselves.
The transition to adulthood is very different. You are faced with a lot of new challenges that change the way a person sees the world and sees a particular challenge. For example, the goals that can change are that a student is no longer attempting to meet the requirements given by a school. Instead they are trying to meet the standards set by a particular career or job so that they can get that job to make a living. Also, physically everyone changes the way that they look.
