In this song Kendrick Lamar tells a story from his past. In this story Kendrick Lamar is going to the gas station in a luxury car. When he steps out of the car a homeless man walks up to him and asks, ¨How much a dollar cost¨. The man was aking for a dollar because he desperately needs it. Kendrick told him he did not have a dollar only because he believed that the man was going to use it for drugs. The man begs,¨Listen to me I want a single bill from you nothing less nothing more¨. Still Kendrick with much more than a dollar to give tells him that he does not have it. After he gets in the car Kendrick proceeds to start the car as the man stares at him in disbelief. Kendrick felt something stopping him from leaving, the stare of the man was contagious so now their are both looking into each others eyes. While this is happening Kendrick is getting annoyed and believes that its not his fault the man is homeless so why should he help. As the man stared at him he says,¨You're looking at the Messiah, son of Jehovah, the higher power. The choir that spoke the world, the Holy Spirit, the nerve of Nazareth, and I'll tell you just how much a dollar cost. The price of having a spot in heaven, embrace your loss, I am God¨. All along God was testing Kendrick's integrity but he failed. He proceeds to lose his spot in heaven
