Maze
Budda said, “Just as treasures are uncovered from the earth, so virtue appears from good deeds, and wisdom appears from a pure and peaceful mind. To walk safely through the maze of human life, one needs the light of wisdom and the guidance of virtue.” Budda states that in order find the correct path one needs to rely high moral standards, experience and knowledge. The purpose of the maze is for the participants to lead and rely on each other to cross the grid. The team will need leaders that have experience, knowledge and be trustworthy. The maze is a team building activity that mimics how a team may respond to real life crisis in their workplace. The team must establish team roles and strategy to complete the maze.

Following the first trial and completion of the maze, team member reflect on their strategy and institute the changes that were successful. The overall objective of the maze is for a team to achieve superior performance based on evaluating and improving their current processes. During the first attempt at the maze the team struggled with non-verbal communication and the team achieved a higher time, but during the second attempt they were able to shorten their time through earned trust and improved communication, (“The 8-Step Process”, n.d.). The strategy time allowed prior to the second attempt allowed the team members to reflect on what was successful and what failed. Some members of the team strongly relied on the leader and mentors to determine what step to take, while others took leadership and mentors position in guiding other team members.
