The Ku Klux Klan is one of many organizations that has impacted the United States even today. This is the most violent, infamous, and eldest hate group in America. The group is well known for their murderous, harmful, events that have taken place throughout the late 1800’s and 1900’s. The KKK were either hated or praised for their continuous actions of lynching and hate towards those who are black Americans, Jews, immigrants, LGBTQ, and Catholics. The conflict of the KKK’s influence in the United States created their reputation for being the most infamous hate group, which the organization received due to their tremendous acts of violence and through their influential power, which impacted today’s country in the wake of specific groups. …show more content…

It’s because our nation was filled with stubborn xenophobics who refused to understand that every human deserves to be treated equally and be given equal rights no matter how they look or what they believe in. These simple minded people would be considered as xenophobics due to their belief that any foreigner, mainly blacks, maintain less value than white people. Due to all of the support that the KKK received, it allowed the organization to think they could take matters into their own hands to demolish America’s diversity, as the people wanted. In order to do this,“The Klan's goals included the political defeat of the Republican Party and the maintenance of absolute white supremacy…” (“Ku Klux Klan in the Reconstruction Era”, 2002). The nation knew that the government was who allowed the outsiders to come into the country, which was the last thing anybody of that time period wanted. Society was in cheering on the KKK because they guaranteed that America would be the home of the white supremacist.With this being, xenophobics favored the KKK because they planned to demolish all people of color, which is why at one point, the KKK demanded to overthrow The White House and give the white people what they wanted, shown in an image from The Twenties in Political Cartoon, “The Klan” segment ( “Sooner or Later”, 1923). The image is a drawing that shows a klansmen demanding The White House to become him personal office. All of this matters because of the fact that through history, the KKK wanted to demolish all foreigners to create an all white America, similar to what the current U.S. President wants, which is how Trump also gained more supporters over the years. The people who voted for Trump prioritized his idea of getting rid of all immigrants rather than his idea of a solution to subjects like war and climate change, as did the people who supported the KKK.
