Those were the words Kurt Cobain told Spin magazine during an interview a couple years before his death. This very statement described his life story and behavior. Let me explain. On February 20th 1967, in Aberdeen, Washington, Kurt Cobain was born to a waitress, Wendy Elizabeth and an automotive mechanic, Donald Cobain. Cobain only had one sibling, a younger sister named Kimberly Cobain, born in 1970. Kurt was described such an exciting and bubbly kid, even as a baby. His wife found him and rushed him to the hospital. After five days, he was released back home. That was his first suicide attempt. On March 18, 1994, His wife called the police proclaiming that he had locked himself I the room with a gun. Once the police arrived he claimed that she was lying and he locked himself away from her, although they found guns and bottles of pills. After a very heated intervention, Kurt finally agreed to detox. The staffs at the facility were unaware of Cobain's history of depression and prior attempts at suicide. When his friends visited him, there was no indication to them that Cobain was in any negative or suicidal state of mind. He spent the day talking to counselors about his drug abuse and personal problems, happily playing with his daughter Frances. These interactions were the last time Cobain saw his daughter. The next night he went out for a cigarette and climbed the 6foot fence escaping from the facility. Kurt made his way back to Seattle where he was spotted once or twice by a few fans. Worried, his wife hired a private investigator to find him. On April 7th, rumors of the band breaking up spread out as the band pulled out of the music festival. Many psychiatrists used Kurt's behavior and music to connect him with Bipolar Disorder (Mania and depression). Although, it was no secret that he suffered from depression, as he stated many times, he just had never been diagnosed with it. Kurts behaviors such as his rage, alcohol abuse and high energy is what makes them believe he was Bipolar. Kurt refused any testing though and turned to his drug abuse to treat his symptoms. The alcohol and heroin was to numb his emotions. Many people suffer from Bipolar disorder and if not treated early may result in suicide such as Kurt
