Imagine a man taking innocent women to the woods to hunt them down with his rifle, just like wild animals. This sick man killed up to 21 women and raped over 30. Robert Hansen was a violent criminal, who is little known for the horrific crimes he committed in the Alaskan wilderness. Robert Hansen had a hard life as a kid. His father was very strict and forced him to work many hours each day at the family bakery( Lohr, 5 ). When Robert wasn't working in the family bakery, he was at school and often bullied because of the bad acne he had(Lohr,5). The bullying Robert received as a result of his skin condition lead him to hate school and eventually created larger problems down the road for him. He hated waking up and going to school. Once Robert graduated, he married and started his life(Lohr, 5). But still, his hatred of school caused him to want revenge on those who made fun of him. He raped 30 women and killed up to 21 women( D'Oro, 1). He would put them on his private plane and then take them to the woods and let them go( D'Oro, 2). Later, he would come back with his rifle and hunt them like an animal. The community began finding clues in the woods that led to the capture of Robert Hansen(Lohr,4). Soon, the police found enough to trace the crimes back to him. He was sentenced to 461 years in prison and charged with four murders( Krajicek,4).
