With the growing human population around the world, elementary schools have become crowded and full to the brim with children. This is not a bad thing, as long as there is the space and adequate number of teachers to go along with the students. A child spends six years of their early lives in elementary school learning about math, science, English, history and other life skills. These six years are small compared to a person's whole life, but these are the years where kids are learning who they are, growing in their academics and developing as a human being the most. Children should get the best schooling they can, as soon as possible, so they can do what they want later on in life. However, children cannot get what they need academically, socially, mentally and emotionally if the classrooms they are put in are overcrowded. Large class sizes limit a child's potential, so classroom sizes should be reduced.
Small classes are easier to manage. In order to know, just ask them. Mrs. Melanie Froman is a fourth grade teacher at Morgan Owing's Elementary School. She reveals that it is much harder with an overwhelming class size now than it was when she first started teaching. She did not really know the difference in the beginning between having 30 kids in a class her first year, to a smaller class now.
