He studied to become a doctor, earning his B.S. from the University of Michigan and received his doctorate from Michigan State University. Throughout his years he had been gifted the jobs of USA Gymnastics’ national team doctor, and the osteopathic physician at his alma mater; Michigan State University. USA Gymnastics is the governing body for the United States for gymnastics. Many of the survivors of Nassar’s acts are suing USAG because of their inefficiency to listen to the crimes and continue to let Nassar molest young females that were a part of their program. One gymnast in specific who is suing the US Olympic Committee and USA Gymnastics is Olympian, Aly Raisman. Raisman was one of the victims of Nassar’s crime and stands that the governing body dismissed all of the claims of assault. Michigan State is being investigated by Betsy DeVos and her department on what the university knew, and what they could’ve possibly been covering up. The New York Times states, “The lawsuits and the legislative inquiries center on what Michigan State knew about Dr. Nassar’s behavior during the two decades he worked there. Several victims have alleged that they had told Michigan State employees, as far back as the late 1990s, about being molested under the guise of treatment.” Many victims (along with the public) are outraged with the university.
