The position of Assistant/Associate Professor Organizational Leadership in the School of Service and Leadership at Indiana Wesleyan University is an outstanding opportunity. This position would allow me to share my years of experience teaching and developing traditional on-site and online courses. My Christian Faith has been instrumental in my ability to work collaboratively with the community, institutional leadership, faculty and staff. I believe that my professional experiences and academic background would make me a promising candidate for this position.
For the last 10 years, I have researched faculty attitudes and perceptions about teaching in the distance online education environment. As an online faculty member, I found that teaching online courses often cause faculty to feel isolated from the institution. In most of my positions, I worked with administration to implement mentoring programs and various professional development opportunities for faculty. This was an effort to encourage faculty teaching online courses to become an active part of the College’s community.

The program review process involved facilitating faculty workshops that focused on assessing programs to ensure the curriculum accomplished the learning outcomes. The workshops provided instructions regarding curriculum mapping and other compliance requirements. I also worked closely with the Director of Assessment to gather and analyze data for reporting purposes. The data gathered to complete the state program reviews provided great insights related to various curriculum concerns, and student retention, enrollment and graduation trends. This information is now being used for program development and planning
