The purpose of this memo is to address how important leadership effectiveness is in the workplace. Leadership in a company is important because it can make or break a company by either leading people to achieve goals and keep them motivated or completely losing total control of the company. The issues you are having in the workplace can be resolved, but you must be fully committed. I think your hands-off approach has hurt this company because your decorators have lost motivation. They have done so because of them being paid a premium salary. When company’s do this they are taking a big chance of the job getting boring or not getting done because they are not working for a reward. I will give you sources of power that you can use, and advice how to increase your power base. Also, I will give you a brief overview on how important the behavior model and the path-goal theory is associated with the workplace.

You need to have a meeting with your 4 employees, and the bookkeeper to address how important this type of leadership is. This leadership consist of identifying change, and creating a vison to be successful in the workplace. Every member in the group must be motivated to change the way they do their work. Also, each employee must be inspired to do the job because if not you will be in the situation you are in now. It is your job to get them motivated and execute the change effective and efficiently. The steps to achieve goals through transformational leadership consist of the four qualities: idealized influence, inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation and individual consideration. These qualities are important in many ways such as leading as example, motivate by inspiring, challenge the intellect, and help the employee achieve the appropriate goals to get the job
