Almost anything can be made out of LEGOs. Many things can be built, such as colorful forts, miniature spaceships, or cities of skyscrapers that sprawl across the bedroom floor.A favorite of mine was erecting ancient, trap-filled temples based off of the temples from the Indiana Jones movies.
During my years in the primary grades, I was quite obsessive about my LEGOs. I often erected medieval castles, complete with a moat and a drawbridge and defense posts and a royal court for the king and queen. I would hunch over for hours, kneeling beside over the hundreds of bricks spread across the carpet, to pick out the correct block for each part of the building.
Once the walls of the castle were built and the knights were ready to advance from the moat’s opposite side, I worked no more. I never really played with the castle afterward. I transferred it to a corner to prevent me, my cat, and my mother from tripping over it and ruining it.
Reflecting on my earlier years, I was a rather obsessive little kid. For quite some time after constructing an airplane or fort, I would stop and ensure that each plastic piece was still in its place.
It may seem strange that between the age of tricycle riding and the age of driving, I am, in some aspects, the same as I’ve always been.

Spelled out on a paper, a hazy mass of loosely related ideas can be forged into coherent work. An essay or some other writing can be drafted as the realization of one concept. My satisfaction comes from having perfectly embodied a concept. This is sometimes agonizing as I 've yet to write anything nearing perfect. As much as I obsess over my words and methodically revise each draft, my ideal continues to escape me. In spite of this, I come back to my desk to continue to write, edit, and rewrite because if I don 't come back, that I’ll never complete the essay that I hope to
