I interview Linda Schultz who is an Occupational therapist who specializes in hand therapy. The interview took place over the phone because Linda currently works in Florida, and it took place on Friday, December 1st, 2017. Doing this interview was something that I was not looking forward to. I thought it was just another assignment that I had to get done just to get a grade. After doing the phone interview I am glad that we were required to do this interview. Occupational therapy has been something that I have wanted to do for some time now. I found out what OT was during my junior year of high school and knew that I wanted to be an OT. Doing this interview with Linda was a great experience. The most satisfying thing about her work was being able to interact with so many great people and being able to help people daily. This is the biggest reason why I want to be an OT. I want to be able to help people on daily basis and see the progress with my patients. Another I asked Linda was what the least satisfying thing was about her work. The big was having to document many different things to get paid. Talking to her about this was something that did not influence whether I want to be an OT or not. The six skills that Linda mentioned was, being easily relatable to people, enjoying relating to people, creativity; ability to look at things scientifically problem solve, positive outlook, and patient. These six personality traits are something that I expected when being an OT. Most of these skills match my personality, but there are a few that I could work on. I think the biggest one that I need to work to be able to be successful is to learn to be more flexible. I am flexible at times, but I try to stick a set schedule or else I start to fall behind whether that’s in school or in
