People may go extremely far to ensure their survival, but some go to greater lengths than others in order to survive. A good example of that would be the Lost Boys of Sudan. They escaped Sudan to flee war, fearing for their lives. They went to great lengths to avoid war, and live at all. Sudan was a dangerous country, with numerous wars as proof. The country has gone through war after war consistently, over and over again. It’s no doubt the Lost Boys of Sudan left, and walked away from the country. They walked away in the middle of another war, and headed away from the dangerous country. The Lost Boys of Sudan left to avoid death, and it’s important because of how far they went to live. Sudan’s wars are deadly, no questions asked. The country’s history shows Sudan is constantly at war, often for religious, ethnic reasons. “Sudan has been involved in civil war fueled by religious, ethnic and regional strife since the mid-1980s.” (Who). Wars occurred often, with one of the recent wars being a civil war that began in 1985 (Lost Boys). This war was sparked for religious reasons, and went on for a while. Having to run from a refugee camp, avoiding soldiers, and crossing a river in the process is also something not many would do. These people managed to do all of that, and survived to live their lives. Some are still trying to help during Sudan’s wars. They walked for at least a thousand miles, and escaped death many times.
