The Lost City of Atlantis There have been many speculations about a mythical island that was supposedly around several decades ago. The evidence to prove this island is minimal but there is still a strong aspiration to prove that it really did exist. There are several different beliefs about where the city of Atlantis was located. The first contemplation was made by the ancient Greeks stating that Atlantis was positioned in the Atlantic Ocean exceeding the Straits of Gibraltar, which was also referred to as the Pillars of Hercules (Atlantis).
