The swirling flames of destruction were engulfing the city of New York. Alone in the hostile environment stood alone Duncan Smith. Duncan was a 14 year old boy who had a passion for robotics and loved to play sports even though he was always pinned down as the “nerdy kid.” Duncan didn’t really believe in himself and didn’t have much self-confidence, a lot of people didn’t believe in him as well. Duncan attended his local public school in his neighborhood because his family wasn’t rich. Although his life was rustic and poor, Duncan still loved it, until that day came 2 weeks ago. He crawled out of the shelter he made for himself using newspapers and wood and slowly rose using the only strength he could muster. He felt his way along the walls in the alleys and came to a frozen statue when he saw what was in front of him. Duncan saw an alien right in front of him. In an instant, a shadow emerged from the darkness and quickly bull-charged the alien. The alien stumbled backwards and quickly fired a shot but it bounced off a metal pole 10 feet in the distance. The mysterious figure quickly pulled out a knife and slammed it through the alien’s head. without any guts or blood, the alien just disintegrated into thin air. Duncan was frozen in fear, uncertain of what just happened. the mysterious figure took of his mask and revealed his appearance. he was a stocky built man, probably a slight older that Duncan himself with a great bundle of long dark hair and a mustache in need of shaving. “G’day mate, the names Nick.” Duncan relaxed, the boy strikes him as a friendly person. ”My name is Duncan,” Duncan replied with an involuntary tremble in his knees. Up in the sky was a gigantic spaceship, ready to kill. Kervin and the others took off running, Duncan followed them. The spaceship swerved in and out through the destroyed buildings and located one of the targets, the kid right next the Duncan. Before he could yell out to him, the missiles swooped through the air like a freight train and pummeled through the kid. Duncan exchanged one more glance of the kid whose name was Faizaan before he fell onto the unfinished road, lifeless. Duncan gasped at the treacherous sight but kept going. Kervin, Duncan and 3 other teenagers slipped into a building just before the spaceship released its second set of missiles, pummeling two more teenagers. Duncan’s breath was short and ragged as Kervin took off his backpack and inspected the remaining food in his backpack.
