The societies of Tokugawa Japan (c.1603-1867C.E.) and medieval Europe (c.1000-1500C.E.) had two things in common; a feudal system. A feudal system is something that features hierarchies or social structures. The feudal system normally starts with a religion, which is at the very top of the social pyramid, then it’s the King or monarch for Europe and the shogun for Japan, then there are the nobles for Europe and the daimyos for Japan. As we go down the pyramid there are the warriors, like the knight in Europe and the samurai in Japan, then there are the peasants. The peasants were included in both eras and are at the lowest part of the pyramid.
World War II had a horrible dent on america's pastime and other sports. On the date of December 7 1941, America was brought into this horrible war, them causing a huge mix up with all sports going on at the time. Not to fear, President Roosevelt was pushing to keep most of these sports from coming to a complete hault. During World War II many athletes had to turn in their jerseys in exchange for war uniform and boots. Because of Word War II, baseball has changed in the way we play the game, The population of the game and the structures that they play in.

Between the players, mindset, and amount of games there are known differences but also some unknown.

If you enjoy like me the festive nighttime illuminations, there are three periods around the year when you can experience them in Japan: during Hanami, during the winter holidays, and on late autumn, when Japan celebrates the autumn red leaves. The late autumn celebration is called in Japanese Momijigari which means “hunting the red leaves", and one of the best places to enjoy it is in Higashiyama, Kyoto. Here’s a photo taken in Eikando, with a wonderful grove of maple trees… Simply
Ninjas, samurais, Pokemon, Nintendo, sushi, and so on are what many think of when they hear Japan. It’s a relatively small country that’s an island right by China and South Korea. Japan gains tourism for Mt. Fuji and is seen as an interesting country with lineages and other traditional cultures (Ito & Crutcher, 2014). But, Japan is changing with the times and is evolving its culture. From the past and to the present, Japan has had such a big presence in society with just its culture.
You know what it’s like to live as a teen in the United States, but what do you think it’s like to live as a teen in Japan? Japan’s and the United States’ teenagers both have many differences and many similarities. Two categories that they have many similarities and differences in is the teenagers rights/responsibilities and their hobbies. Eigo wa hanashi masuka? (Do you speak English?) Japan has a rich culture and traditions still followed today. Japan differs a lot from America because of its religion, school system, transportation, food, and holidays. An issue in Japan is dealing with the aftermath of the Fukushima nuclear disaster.
Anime has been part of my life since the 7th grade. It has comfort me through the good and though times. The anime community has been a big impact in America and holds an annual expo for anime fan. The cartoons in U.S. are normally made for children entertainment. Unlike Japanese anime the entertainment is for children, teenagers and adults.

The “small island nation” Japanese have always had very strong values that they pass down to their generations (Kanagy,2013). They teach their children to place others before them, respect their elders, and to always be honest. The country of Japan remained mostly isolated until whale hunters wanted to hunt, and dock in the Japanese territory in 1825 (Japan: Memories). The culture of Japan before World War II, was one of a deep history of knowing one’s place, keeping traditions, and honor. That was something that America had to understand when it came to intergrading with Japan after the war.
Japanese culture is very different than the American culture we are used too. The vast majority of Americans are Christians, while in Japan only about 1% are Christian. The most common religion in Japan is a mix of Shinto and Buddhism. Buddhism was originally founded in India by Siddhārtha Gautama or the Buddha and came to Japan in the Nara Period, or about 710 AD. Buddhism does not worship a God, but is a religion of traditions and beliefs and focuses on meditation and enlightenment.
There are a number of things that are often used to describe a person culture, But Culture generally accepts the way a community of people has chosen to live their lives in the best way of showing their traditions. Now you might not think too much of this small country, but let me tell you that its people, land, and culture really make up the aspects of life for everyone who lives there. Japan is located near Russia, North Korea, South Korea, and China, with and exact location of 35N° and 136E°. Japan is an eastern asian country and placed in the northern hemisphere. Out of all of the countries in the world, the USA is the most similar to Japan in my opinion. Both being highly developed countries, similarities also include the fact that both countries have access to running water, cars, telephones, television, radio, and many more.
Education is different across the globe. In many countries, education is very important and the government put a lot of resources into their systems. In Japan particularly their education system is very effective and held to a high standard within their society. The Japanese education system is different than the American education system, all the way from first grade to twelfth grade. There are many positives within their system and some negatives.
