The managerial skills course has made a tremendous impact on my life because it exposed me to areas that I had not been thinking about, which affect the operations of a business in the real world. The course and the material have helped me better understand my personality. In that, I can confidently state my strong and weak points. I believe personal understanding is an initial step in creating a better work and personal life. I have established that I am a self-starter because I am committed to my task and look forward to delivering quality results; this is one of my most valued strong points. The last areas I need to work upon is my interpersonal skills and communications, whereby regardless of the fact that English is my second language I will do my best to ensure that my words and sentences are clear and can be understood by the audience. As an individual who seeks to work in the electrical engineering field, I realize that problem solving and decision making will part and parcel of my work life and this explains the reason I chose the video on these topics. In essence, the video already has an impact in my personal life, because through the application of the six steps process of problem solving and decision making, I have identified some issues that if well analyzed and evaluated I will develop solutions that will help me improve my personal life while at school and in the workplace in the near future. After reading the material, I evaluated my resume and cover letter and established that they were very shallow and not serious employer work thinks twice prior to throwing them away from his desk. However, through this material I have already gotten started in preparation of a new resume and a new cover letter, which I believe will catch the employer's eye and I will be among the shortlisted candidates scheduled for an interview in the next job that I apply. In other words, the resume and the cover letter will contain the information that the employer will be looking for in the candidate that will fill the vacant post. On the other hand, I am also prepared for an interview, as I have been practicing with the course material states concerning interviews and I believe I am up to the task. I am looking forward to having a grade between "A-" and B+, regardless of the fact that in the previous two papers I got a "B-". I have evaluated the reasons I did not perform well in these two papers and have established that I did not pay close attention to the instructions, which mean that my responses did not align with the assignment requirements.
