Marilyn Monroe was a famous actress and model who was and will remain to be one of the most successful sex symbols in the world. She had everything to be desired; beauty, fame, and even fortune. This blonde bombshell, however, had a schizophrenic mother that committed suicide, had experienced sexual molestation and abuse starting at a young age, and had battled depression, anxiety, and low self esteem that led to an eventual drug overdose that took her life. What is success and was Ms. Monroe an effigy of the word? The word success emanated in the 1530’s from the Latin term successus, meaning a good result or advancement. If today’s dictionary defines success as attaining wealth, prosperity and/or fame, why was this American beauty so unhappy?
