This quotes comes into Mark Twain's life, because Twain would not have become a very successful writer if he didn’t start writing. Mark Twain’s life started out great, then turned into devastation. Mark Twain had a slightly rough childhood/early life due to the loss he had to handle. Mark Twain’s real name was actually Samuel L. Clemens (“Twain’s life”). Mark Twain was his pen name while he was the captain of a steamboat, and during his writing career. (dictionary.com) Twain was born in Florida, Missouri on November 30, 1835. (“Twain’s Life). Twain was raised in Florida, Missouri, but when Twain was 4 years old they moved to Hannibal Missouri. Heartbreakingly, when Twain was 11 his dad died in 1848. Twain had a “big break” in 1865. Twain’s break was when his short story, “Jim Smiley and His Jumping Frog”, was published. Twain’s life continued to get better once he was introduced to Olivia Langdon.(“SamClemensFamily”) Clemens fell in love with her when someone showed him a carving of her. Mark Twain and Olivia (Langdon) Clemens married on February 2,1870. 2 years later, Mark Twain and Olivia had their first child Langdon Clemens (TwainHouse). Shortly after they had their 1st daughter Olivia Susan Clemens, on March 19,1872. 2 more years later they had Clara Langdon Clemens on June 8, 1874. 6 years later they had their last child Jane Lampton Clemens, who was born July 26, 1880.
