Martin Luther King JR. Martin Luther King JR. was an African American man that had a dream. This dream of his made him into the man he was. The dream gave Martin the courage to fight for what he believed in. That one dream of his has helped shape the world for the better. Martins actions started the wave of a new future where whites and African Americans could do-exist together without trying to harm each other. Even though Martin could not put an end to segregation completely; he died get things started. It was up to everyone else to carry out Martin’s dreams and make it into a reality. His father’s name was Michael King Sr. His mother’s name was Alberta Williams King. Everyone addresses him as Martin Luther King JR. but his name given at birth was Michael King, just like his father. It was on December 1, 1955; that is when Rosa Parks was arrested for refusing to give up her seat on the Montgomery Bus Boycott. The Boycott was planned by President Nixon and Martin Luther King was the one to lead the boycott. This boycott lasted for about 390 days and as the days kept on passing by the whole situation started to become very stressful for Martin especially since it was around that time when his house was bombed because of all this segregation hate that was still going on in the world.
