Some people may ask what Marvel comics is, but the real question is what is the history behind it. Marvel was not always called Marvel, it actually used to be called Timely Publications but generally known as Atlas comics. Atlas comics produced a majority of the movies in the MCU ( Marvel Cinematic Universe) such as Captain America and Spider-man.
Lets not forget who started all of this, Martin Goodman. Martin was born on January 18, 1908 in the United States of America. Martin originally started off in pulp magazines. He did low paid magazines until till he had a brilliant idea. He got an idea to make the superhero we all know and love today, Captain America. He created Captain America to express his feelings about the war the Nazis wanted to start against Europe. Lee is probably the most well known writer when people talk about Marvel. Stan Lee was born on 28 of December of 1922. Stan Lee grew up in the time of the great depression and did as much as he could for his family. He would write obituaries for many celebrities. When Lee was about 15 years old his cousins’ husband was the owner of Timely Publications(or Marvel) and offered him a job as the writer of comics.
