During the 1960s in America, there were many strikes and marches for equal rights for Latino farm workers. Due to the strikes, Cesar Chavez along with Dolores Huerta founded the National Farm Workers Association to help the workers while also having a nonviolent approach to the situation. The Mexican-American and the Church by Cesar Chavez was given in March 1968. The speech, Prepared and presented by Chavez, was given during the Second Annual Mexican Conference in Sacramento California. As Cesar Chavez speaks to the conference members he displays a wide variety of rhetorical devices, to argue that the Catholic church must unify during this time of hardship for the Latino-American community.

Sigmund Freud is the first person to use psychology. He used this to make a Structure of Personality. He used 3 ideas to make the structure Id, Ego, and Superego. In Lord of the Flies, the author uses this structure of personality. In the book Lord of the Flies written by William Golding, he shows the structure of personality with Jack the Id, Ralph the Ego, and Piggy the Superego.
Despite being incredibly passionate about psychology, I cannot seem to pinpoint exactly when and where this passion came from. The farthest I can go back is when I was thirteen and deciding that I would study psychology in college. I didn’t know where I would study it, or what I would do afterwards, but I knew that I wanted to learn about behavior and the human mind. Once I got to high school, I became very serious about what I wanted to do, and what would best help me achieve doing it. I joined my school’s Psychology Club, and took any and all helpful classes.

In the mid 1800s, psychology was flourishing. Seemingly each new psychologist would often research mental phenomena with a slightly different perspective. In the 1890s, Edward Titchener brought Wilhelm Wundt’s psychology to the United States of America, establishing what is now known as structuralism. Generally, structuralists believe that everything within conscious experience is merely a combination of mental ingredients, which can be parsed apart via introspection (Hergenhan, 2017). Around the same time, a new school known as functionalism began to develop.

It is an academic discipline and a social science which helps to understand an individual and groups by establishing general principles and researching specific cases. Psychology has got many branches whereas psychology itself is a branch of social sciences. By studying psychology, a human becomes a therapist and a psychologist which helps them to understand and solve problems of an individual. It is further classified into three main fields which are social psychology, behavioral psychology and cognitive psychology.
