I completely agree with the statement, as it can be seen that since this article was published in 1989, the ideas presented in it have been implemented in Canadian Curriculum and Ontario Classrooms.

According to the article, the changes required in Math Curriculum include setting high expectations for students and believing that everyone can achieve the goals with hard working. The underlying principles of Math Curriculum demonstrate the same belief that all students can learn math and deserve the opportunity to do so… It aims to challenge all students by including expectations that require them to use higher order thinking skills and to make connections between related mathematical concepts and between mathematics, other disciplines, and the real world.
