Personal Statement Education is a major step in preparing me for my future career and beyond. The purpose of education in my life is to develop necessary skills, like critical thinking and working under pressure, and apply them to real life situations. Through receiving an education, I am given a chance to explore my interest in the sciences and the medical field. My academic goal is to learn as much as possible in order to become the best I can be at my career. I wish to transfer to University of California Los Angeles after two years at Irvine Valley College and then attend University of Washington for graduate school. I plan on majoring in chemistry and I am currently debating between pursuing a job as a physician assistant or a doctor. On the other hand, my personal my goal is to get an internship as a medical assistant in a hospital. In addition, I would like to spend more time with family and friends. I believe that I am an appropriate candidate for the Honors Program because I enjoy challenging myself academically. This is an excellent environment that helps me learn and allows me to get the attention from professors that I need, in order to be successful in the subjects that I struggle in. Hopefully, this will aid me in achieving the grades that I want in the long run. The Honors Program will also give me the opportunity to pursue the Transfer Alliance Program with UCLA College of Letters and Science.
