Michael Jeffrey Jordan was born February 17, 1973 in Brooklyn, New York. In 1978 Michael was just a sophomore in high school, he tried out for the varsity basketball team at his school called Emsley A. Laney High School. He did not make the team, he began working out everyday and improving his skills. The next year rolled around and he was instantly on the varsity team. He had an point average of 20 points or more. 19-4 was his high school's team record after Jordan joined the team, which was their best record ever. In 1984 Michael, a junior in college was drafted to the NBA and he played for the Chicago Bulls (Author unknown). According to Forbes Jordan is the “First athlete in history to become a billionaire” (Devine). For the past years Jordan has still been apart of this generation. Starting with his businesses. He “owns seven restaurants,car dealership, 80 percent stake of the NBA's Charlotte Bobcats. The superstar earned more than $90 million in 2013 through his business ventures and endorsements, boasting a net worth of about $750 million.” (Isaac brekken). Jordan also has a nike deal. Jordan also has this deal with NIKE. Nowadays you see lots of people all around you wearing shoes that were designed by Michael. He has over thousands of different designs. He sales running shoes, basketball shoes, everyday shoes, clothes, headbands, socks, and etc. “The Jordan brand is the most purchased product today.” (Author unknown) He has a big impact on our generation. Kids all over want to be just like him and be as big as him. As great as he was Jordan has children's attention. Michael works with children at his Flight School camp.
