What have you found is the same about your millennial generation across the cultures of the world and what is different?
American culture has a heavy influence in the culture of the country I am from, Costa Rica. That influence has been apparent since many years back, but since the rise of the internet that influence has become stronger. The rise of the internet and the international communications matches with the birth of a new generation, the millennials. We were born in the era of globalization and electronic communication. The globalization affects the way we trade products, but it also affects the fashion we consume, the trends we follow, and the entertainment enjoy. That influence is not only in Costa Rica’s culture, it is in all the cultures over the world even the American culture has been affected by foreign trends or habits. We as millennials share some similarities, but also differences.

For example, talking with and American friend she told me that at the age of 18 the parents expect their offspring to leave the house and be economically independent. That does not happen in my country where you can see people above 25 living with their parents and that is socially acceptable. I have found some differences in the concept of the marriage, mostly between the Asian countries and the Occidental ones. In the Asian countries is important to know if the parents accept the alliance and is almost a must their approval.
