At age 10, Miranda Flisberg was hit with a traumatizing event. Her mother was murdered by a man who leaves tiny clues. The one clue that he left was the words “That Guy” on the wall and a bag of pennies. The police had no idea who would kill Miranda’s mother and why they would leave a bag of pennies. Miranda wanted to figure out who killed her mom but she was just way too sad to help find out who committed the crime.
“Daddy, I miss mommy,” she sobbed while kneeling next to her father.
“I know sweetie, I know. I miss her too,” he croaked emotionally.

Miranda looked at him with sadness in her eyes, she wanted closure but she wouldn’t get that if Miranda never found out who had murdered her mom. “Ok fine. I will stop looking,” she knew she was lying. Miranda would keep on looking without her father's consent.
“What he doesn't know, won’t hurt him,” Miranda sighed as she looked for more information about all the murders in New York City attached with the name “That Guy.” There were clues that were oddly strange. There were no more clues leading to “That Guy” anymore. All the clues she had collected made no sense to her. She thought it was time for her to just give up completely. What’s the point to spend her whole life looking if I’m never going to find anything, she thought as she blew out the candles of her cake.
“Sweetheart come here!” yelled Uncle Ed. Her Uncle Ed has been helping Miranda’s father take care of her. He has been with her so much.
“Hey Ed, what’s up?” she asked.
“Same old same old,” he laughed as he smoked his cigar.
“Can I show you something? It is really important, but you have to promise not to tell anyone. Do you promise on your life?” she stared at him with the widest eyes.
“I promise, now what do you want to show?” he questioned her with a curious face.
“Follow me, but hurry before Dad notices that we are gone from the Birthday party he has thrown me.”
Miranda grabbed Uncle Ed’s hand and dragged him up the stairs and into her room. She went into her closet and pulled out a huge bulletin board. Uncle Ed just stared at it for about 5 minutes, just staring with no facial expressions
