In the beginning of chapter 9, Julie Morgenstine defines the difference between goals and activities. A goal is the destination. It’s what you want to achieve; however, an activity is how you get there. Big- picture goals are based on our own core values and they tend to change over time. Activities; how we choose to meet our goals does change over time. People often confuse activities with goals. Motivation to take action comes when you desperately want something. After setting your big-picture goals you must choose the correct activities to help you meet them. She also advises us to set big-picture goals for every category in our lives, ask ourselves “what’s it all about?”, and keep them simple and heartfelt. In a well-known study at Yale
