The National Honor Society is an achievement that, if accepted, would affirm all my hard work thus far. Since coming to Columbus North International in 2013, I’ve joined several clubs in order to immerse myself with new people and new things. During freshman year, I joined GSA or ‘Gay-Straight Alliance.’ Within that club, I learned to accept people for who they are and not judge someone on their preferences, beliefs or points of view. I also had a brief involvement in the Homework Club, where I developed a stronger work ethic and was able to help others, which I took great pride in doing. It's not just a goal, it's what I know will happen because when I set out to do something I strive to follow it through until the end. It's my determination that's gotten me this far and will continue to push me farther until I one day achieve what I’ve set out to do in life. Someone close to me once told me, you express the truth of your character with the choice of your actions, meaning people will see the real you through what you do. For the majority of my seventeen years, I can honestly say I didn’t always live by this. But there came a time when I realized in order to be anything of importance in this world, I needed to focus on me, my life and my future first and foremost before I could help others. Since that turn around I’ve achieved my highest gpa ever of a 3.7, I’ve been selected for programs that weren’t even a possibility before and I’m being considered for the National Honor Society, which in and of itself just goes to show how much hard work I’ve put in.
