Zombicon, a Fort Myers charity event on its 9th year ended with 1 man dead, identified as Tyrell Taylor, and 5 others injured after shots were fired into a crowd of people. October 17th had started like any other Saturday, until 4pm when the Zombies started to roll into the street. It's suspected that the shooter may have found a way to sneak the gun into the festival, despite a police pat down at every entrance. The Fort Myers police have been searching for the shooter since Sunday morning and have come up dry. It's caused such dismay on social media that the FBI has even offered their services to help create peace for those that feel uneasy about the situation at hand.
A local journalist took two of the victims from the shooting to the K-Mart headquarters and they asked for K-Mart to stop selling bullets in their stores. The journalist empowered the two victims to take a stand. Since the boys who committed the crime killed themselves they thought the next best thing was K-Mart. They went to the headquarters and spoke to the supervisor of the gun section but got ignored. They left and came back the next day, this time they came with the media and newspaper reporters so K-Mart would have to listen.
However, to reduce cost, the testing location was changed to Nevada. Making decisions is slow for the government. Testing site had to change because of cost, but also because the US was experiencing problems from the inhabitants of some Pacific Islands. When it comes to making decisions, policy makers have to go through many people. They not only have to talk to people in a political position but also to the public.
Overall, the audience was against concealed carry. The Lost Voices then took this new information and started a protest. I followed from a distance, mostly to see what their work was truly like. We marched around the majority of the school grounds yelling “no guns on our campus.” Many people looked out the windows of dorms and academic buildings, mostly posting on social media what was happening.

Even Senator of California Dianne Feinstein, one of the many senators who wanted a ban on assault weapons said that “The 1994 Assault Weapons Ban was effective at reducing crime and getting these military-style weapons off our streets,” (Assault Weapons). The reason the NRA are involved with this campaign is because they, as a whole, want children kept safe within their schools and to have more protection from gun related incidents. Their answer to this is problem is to bring in more guns and effectively fight fire with fire. An example of the campaign 's aim is to have “a trained SRO would have the skills to directly engage the active shooter and would be aware that neutralizing the threat is the first priority.” This clearly shows the value of child safety that this campaign and the NRA followers believe in. Some evidence they are basing the potential effectiveness of this campaign off is that “As more SRO officers have been assigned to schools, school death rates have decreased.”.
But what should be done about assault weapons? There should be no reason for homeowners and everyday citizens to own such things as an AR-15 or a Machine Gun. Assault weapons should not be permitted in the US. The majority of assault weapons that are used for these shootings are acquired legally by shooters. In some of the most recent major attacks, “killers in Las Vegas and Orlando attacks… walk into gun shops and legally purchase assault weapons” (Ingraham).
It was a one minute long video which was an eye opener because it stated that it only takes 15 minutes for someone to buy a gun, like the Ar-15. All it takes is 15 minutes for a person to obtain a weapon which ultimately might kill a dozen of people. For example, Nikolas Cruz who killed about 17 people in Stoneman Douglas High School had to wait 5 days for a gun because he did not have a conceal carry license; however, later he went through a background check and then legally bought an Ar-15. That was all he needed to execute his horrific plan and evil desires. Imagine living with the fact that the person who killed your loved one wasn’t stopped because there was no protocol or rule

Virginia Woolf 's "The Death of the Moth" shows the audience the power of death through a short narration about everyday, yet very symbolic moth. Woolf uses her own experience of watching a moth die to apply it to a larger theme. Woolf connects a simple moths lifespan to paint a gorgeous picture of “life” and then destroys it right in front of the audience 's eyes, to leave a lasting impression of Woolf 's perception of life and death.
He proposed to ban military-style assault weapons, universal background checks and harsher penalties for gun traffickers. Yet the number of firearm incidents in the US has not changed. All due to the fact that the laws regarding guns in the US are not strict enough. This proposal was announced in the aftermath of the shooting in Sandy Hook Elementary School which occurred on December 14, 2012 where twenty children and seven women lost their lives. This was one of the most deadly and tragic mass murder shooting which has ever occurred in any school in the US.
