Mr. David McDonald is the President and Chief Operating Officer of OSI Group/Industries, the world’s leading manufacturer, packager and distributor of customized foods. Born in Iowa, David grew up and helped with chores on his family’s farm when he was a younger. Later on, he enrolled into the Iowa State University, where he received honors and a Bachelor’s in Animal Science. After graduating, he moved to Chicago and began working for OSI Group/Industries. He progressed until he landed in the current roles as President and COO. David McDonald is committed to making sure OSI Group/Industries maintain its sustainability. Certified sustainable palm oil is grown in the Amazon on land that has no wildlife or essential plants and meets the stringent standard of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) organization. * Teaching farmers in India, how to preserve the fertility and productivity of their land… This is a program spearheaded by OSI Group/Industries after discovering studies stating the farmer’s soil was had a nutrient imbalance from various issues, such as misapplication of fertilizers and erosion. David McDonald also has sustainable systems in place for the animals, including the cattle, pigs and chickens. In the meantime, OSI Food Group/Industries is expanding around the globe. It has more than 65 facilities in 17 countries and employs roughly 20,000. His intentions are to continue to grow the enterprise by working with his business partners to acquire and improve additional facilities and joint ventures with other food services companies.
