The two assessments we were requested to participate in, were the Locus of Control and Multiple Intelligence assessments. “Locus of control is defined as an individual’s generalized expectancies regarding the forces that determine rewards and punishments” (Wise, 1999, n.p.). The Locus of Control assessment was developed to determines the whether I believe the events in my life occur because of my personal actions or external factors, as well as my attribution style (Psychology Today, 2018). “Individuals who possess internal locus of control believe their achievements and failures result from their own efforts and abilities; whereas individuals with external locus of control regard their chance or difficulty of a work situation or others’ behaviors as the reasons for their success and failures” (Oguz & Saricam, 2015, p. 184). Furthermore, the results from my assessment were 80 out of 100, which determined that I have an internal locus of control and rarely attribute external forces. Basically, this means I believe the outcomes in my life, especially my success, are a result of my personal actions, traits, skills — myself.
